i was surfing the internet when i came across the video "sixteen at war" by the sixteen year old def jam artist named karina. My older sister Velvet kept telling me about this song but i never heard because they never play it in the bay. so when i finally hear it and see the video for the first time im like O man this song is hot fiyah! lol this song is so true. young girls these days are at war with their parents, friends, dudes and the pressures of just being a teenager. is it me or does it seem like our generation ..(especially after the class of 06) is going down hill. Like they have no drive except for when it comes to clothes and who has the latest in everything..nothing is wrong with staying fresh or whatever but dont make it your life mission. if you like fashion that much or electronics that much then go into the fashion industry..make a career out of what you love..likek honestly after high school NO ONE CARES wat the FxCK u look like lol but yea this is totally off topic from what i originally wanted to write about .sorry i just went off on a tangent lol..but yes back to my original post..this song is cool and amazing and this lil girl has talent. Two lines from the song that i really like are :
"Why am I disrespected by someone I should call brother.
And why girls feeling pretty but constantly hate eachother"
these lines are the TRUTH ..like why are guys becoming more and more disrespectful everyday. Just because you see your friend acting a fool and disrespecting women does not mean you have to follow along. Now some may say ..well maybe they didn't have any male role models or role models in general to teach them how to be a gentlemen but if you can look at rap videos and look up to rappers then why cant you pick up a book, google, or look up to rappers who are conscious and rap about more than booty shaking females, houses, cars and jewelry o and NEWS FLASH majority of the stuff is not even theirs in the music video and most end up having to sell their cars and everything but the kitchen sink to keep their houses and lavish lifestyles so in reality your role models are as Kanye would say 'people try to keep a fake ass persona they can't keep up". why not look up to Malcolm X, Martin Luther King Jr.,and if you want somebody present why not Barack Obama and for rappers why not Talib Kweli, Common,Mos Def, or like Immortal Technique just to name a few . Men of America especially African American men ...we need more role models for our male youth so when they get older they will know how to respect women, themselves and have more aspirations in life than becoming a rapper or a basktball player or anything else that invovles sports that is not your only way out! k now with the other verse: And why girls feeling pretty but constantly hate eachother"
WHY !?...WHY!? do we do this? and yes we have all done this at one point in a time in our lives. but my question is why ..when i was younger i was quick to talk about ole girl in class for no reason publicly but inside i was jealous about something she had. one day my mom told me ariana wat is talking about that girl going to do...it's not going to change anything about her and it's just going to be taking away energy you could use for something else constructive. i totally agree with my mother now ...nothing i say is going to change that person ..their not going to get uglier or anything so why waste your time on HATING them it makes no sense and another thing WHY cant women take compliments from other women and not cop an attitude some of us really are not being FAKE or SARCASTIC when we give you a compliemnt...if i say i like your shoes or makeup then damnit i mean it! dont cut your eyes or give that fake smirk look like whatever because you are contributing to why women dont give compliments in the first place. so in all...we need to just stop hating on each other and learn to accept compliments when they are given..because honestly some compliments have made my day better and reinforced the fact that my otufits or whatever i was doing was a BOmB idea lol so please lets just come together and stop trying to fight and learn to respect each other becuase if we dont then how we can demand it from men. so yea i know this blog is really long but iono i just felt like writing..so i hope it makes you think or i hope you like it ..goodnite
2 fingahs and <3 ..o and Happy birthday to my homegurl KIY!!!! & MY BOO CHRIS BROWN hahaha yes i kno im obsessed

Ooooo...i like this song! it is very true what she's talkin about...being a teenager is tough period..cause it's in between to awkward phases in life, leaving childhood and entering into adulthood! the hole teen phase is just weird and too hard to figure out..i'm just glad i made it out ok! lol
and those two lines you mentioned stuck out the most to me too!! why do guys do that? when they should be treating us with sisterly love and respect! ugh..
Omg Ariana ...we are twins...we think alike because I was gonna write a blog about this yesterday but I was tired..lol We talked about the issue of men and women being direspectful at the Conference and there were many good points.
This song goes along with it perfectly..Raven is 16...imma tell her to listen to it. I'm not there to be a role model while im at school so maybe she can look to Karina.
yeah i really liked that song!
